Description

Cylinder watch in gold case decorated in pearls and emeralds.

MOVEMENT: Not named. Balance cock plain with regulation scale marked 'A' and 'R', hole with curved sides over balance. Blued steel regulator, polished steel coquette, ruby end stone. Gold balance. Movement constructed on brass edge, recess for train, cocks and bridges front and back. Under dial, polished steel case bolt, bottom plate with third and fourth cocks. Double ended escape, and balance cock having escape jewel and polished steel end piece to balance. Polished steel Geneva stop work. Plate stamped '37697'. Going barrel. Cylinder escapement, steel wheel and cylinder. Train planted clockwise.

HANDS: Gold, Breguet style.

DIAL: Gold with pearls. Edge of dial fits over edge of brass edge. Minute ring of pearls with larger pearl at 5 minutes. Radial Roman chapters having broad strokes of four pearls, centre engine turned. Winding hole at III o'clock.

CASE: Gold set with pearls and emeralds. Single backed consular case. Body with outer ring of set emeralds, centre covered with six swirls of graded pearls, each ending in a set emerald, central emerald. Bezel covered with pearls and outer ring of set emeralds. Pendant covered with small pearls with single set emerald front and back, ring bow set with pearls and emeralds. Inside body stamped '4', '37697' and scratched '4,656' and 'At37'-.

KEY (A): Circular gold turnkey. Both sides set with three rings of pearls, graduated in size, largest at outside. Central emerald. Steel pipe.

CARRIER BROOCH (B): Gold, six semi-circles of graduated pearls towards central ring of large pearls. With central set emerald, six emeralds set in background of small set pearls. Back with hook at bottom and large flat hanger from top and ring from top with cylidrical link change, with key on end.
