Description

Small Swiss verge watch in gold enamel and pearl case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement, not named. Balance bridge pierced and engraved, polished steel end piece and end stone secured by two blued steel screws. Brass balance. Silver regulation dial engraved with 'A' and 'R', blued steel hand with polished centre. Plain date. Turned fusee iron post. Polished steel case bolt with conical end, nib under dial. Adjustable potance. Counter-potance foot screwed to plate, polished steel end plate with adjusting screw. Pillar plate with four plain turned pillars. Centre wheel sink, third wheel bar. Under dial, edge lip, polished steel set-up click and bolt spring. Fusee and chain, barrel with one lip. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise.

DIAL: Gold, thin with edge turned over to fit plate. Dotted minute ring, large dots at 5 min., radial Roman chapters. Min. ring and chapters on polished rings, rest engine turned. Winding hole at 2 o'clock.

HANDS: Blued steel, serpentine with spade heads.

CASE: Gold, enamel and pearls. Single, snap on, back. Body, cylindrical edge chased, with small blue enamelled panels. Back and bezel, outer orange enamelled ring, ring of close fitting pearls, inner ring of orange enamel. Back centre engine turned with translucent green enamel over, and a polychrome enamel picture of a child about to release a mouse from a trap towards a white cat. Inside body edge stamped, inside near pendant, with maker's mark, incuse 'IE.' Scratched inside bezel '321 5v/-/-' and '10-10'. Spherical pendant with spiral of enamel bands, black with gold and orange. Ring bow with chased flowers and foliage.
