Verge watch in silver pair case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Jno. Meredith LONDON 2323'. Balance cock with pierced table (edge cut away to provide banking), blued steel end piece and diamond end stone. Foot pierced. Polished steel balance. Slide plate pierced with free form edge, silver regulator dial engraved 5 to 30. Pierced fusee iron post. Polished steel case bolt with eyes, sliding in slot in plate, nib at side. Potance with foot following plate edge, and with moulding at end. Pillar plate with four square baluster pillars. Centre wheel recessed. Cock for third wheel. Fusee and chain with tangent set-up. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise.

BRASS EDGE: Gilt, plain with three feet.

DIAL: White enamel on copper, three feet. Minute ring of dots with pattern of four dots at the quarters, radial Arabic chapters.

HANDS: Gold, minute hand 'twisted rope' pierced with star and point at end. Hour hand pierced.

INNER CASE: Silver, plain. Stamped inside with maker's mark 'W' pellet 'M' under a star in three interlocking circles, H M London 1756. Pendant cylindrical with spherical end, bow with bulbous ends.

OUTER CASE (A): Bezel and body, covered with painted horn in imitation of tortoiseshell in red and black, with outer circle of pins on bezel and body. Silver hinge and ring around bezel opening. Scratched inside body 'WX', 'Bleir' and jNl'.
