Verge watch in gold pair case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved on slide plate, over barrel 'Saml Toulmin Strand London 3133'. Balance cock, pierced and chased table with polished steel end piece, cut diamond end stone, foot pierced and chased. Polished steel balance. Slide plate pierced and chased, solid over barrel, silver regulation dial with radial Arabic numbers 1 to 6. Pierced fusee iron post. Polished steel case bolt with plain ears, in slot in plate, nib through brass edge. Potance plain with moulding at end of foot, screwed to plate. Counter-potance riveted to plate. Pillar plate with four square baluster pillars, third wheel bar. Scratched under dial, in position of joint, 'Jany 49'. Fusee and chain with tangent set up under barrel, barrel with one lip. High numbered train, third and contrate wheels crossed out in 6. Third, contrate and escape pinions of 8. Verge escapement. Train planted clockwise.

BRASS EDGE: Gilt, with joint, three feet.

DIAL: White enamel on copper, plain counter enamel. Radial Arabic 5 minute numbers, dotted minute ring, radial Roman chapters.

HANDS: Gold, thin with arrow heads.

INNER CASE: Gold, plain. Marked inside with hallmark London 1773, maker's mark incuse 'IL'. Scratched on the inside '4C72', '29676' over '31.1.78,' '3786'. Pendant, cylindrical with one step. Stirrup bow.

OUTER CASE (A): Gold, chased and enamelled. Bezel and body with chased floral band, with blue, white and green enamel. Back with blue and green enamel wavy pattern around an oval painted white enamel plaque painted in gray, depicting the Muse of Harmony with a lute, touched by a torch held by winged Inspiration, pink sky. Inside marked as inner case.

WATCH PAPER (B): A hand painted picture of a boy and girl in a field, sky and edge cut with lines of small diamonds.
