Verge watch in silver consular case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement, un-signed, dial inscribed 'Romilly a Paris'. Balance bridge with pierced and engraved table, polished stell coquette. Brass balance. Circular brass regulator dial with 'A' and 'R' engraved at ends of scale. Plain blued steel hand. Circular pierced and chased silver applied plate covering plate, fixed by three screws, two of which are missing. Fusee iron post turned. Polished steel, conical ended, case bolt sliding in slot in pillar plate, nib under dial. Adjustable potance. Counter potance riveted to top plate, with polished steel end plate with adjusting screw. Pillar plate with four turned pillars, sunk centre wheel, third wheel bar. Fusee and chain, wound through dial, barrel has lip at top, ratchet set-up under dial. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise.

DIAL: With day of the month indicator. White enamel on copper, minute circle dots with quarters marked with vertical Arabic numbers, vertical Arabic chapters, inner date circle with all dates vertical Arabic figures. Winding hole at 2 o'clock, plain centre with 'Romilly a Paris' in an arc at bottom. On the back '53' is marked in counter enamel. Edge around top half with ground chamfer.

HANDS: Time hands missing. Straight blued steel calendar hand with small arrow head and circular counter poise.

CASE: Silver consular. Chased bezel and band of case, back plain. Inside with maker's mark 'GSC' incuse under a simple crown. Also scratch marks '18,349', '379', 29-349,' '1829', '1422, and '50'.
