Verge watch in gilt and enamel case. Forgery, marked 'Breguet a Paris'
MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Breguet A PARIS'. Balance bridge with pierced table having eight spokes and scroll at outside, polished steel coquette. Brass balance. Silver regulator dial, engraved 'A' and 'R'. Plain fusee cock. Edge of back plate engraved with rope pattern. Turned fusee iron post, polished steel conical case bolt, in slot in case, spring under dial with push piece in slot in plate. Adjustable potance. Counter-potance with polished steel end piece and adjusting screw. Pillar plate with four turned pillars with one ring towards pillar plate, centre wheel recessed, third wheel bar. Joint riveted to pillar plate. Pillar plate stamped, on pillar side '8577', under dial face stamped 'AB F S'. Fusee and chain, set-up click under dial, one lip on barrel. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise.
DIAL: White enamel on copper, counter enamel inscribed '3', three feet. Minute circle of short lines, quarter marks of upright Arabic figure, 5 minute marks of dots, vertical Arabic chapters, winding hole at 2 o'clock.
HANDS: Brass arrow hour, fleur-de-lis hour.
CASE: Gilt brass with enamel back. Scene of couple standing, the man reading a sheet of paper with the woman leaning on his shoulder. Blue border and inner arch. Gold wire under glaze. Inside stamped 'ETON,' '8577', and five pointed star over incise 'PB'. Scratch marks 'Lggu 4 Ek/-' or 'L9904 Ek/-'
