Duplex half quarter repeating watch in gold case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Vulliamy rram LONDON' on back plate obscured by slide plate, and 'Vulliamy LONDON rr-am' on barrel bridge. Engraved wedge-shaped balance cock table and foot, mask at neck, small blued steel end piece and polished ruby end stone. Flat polished steel balance. Slide plate pierced and engraved with wavy edge, silver regulation disc engraved 5 to 30 in radial Arabic figures. Curved bi-metallic compensation about 120 degree round balance and back. Escape wheel with capped jewels. Plain rectangular fusee iron post. Polished steel going ratchet click, spring and hammers. Repeating barrel plain and screwed to back plate. Pillar plate with four turned pillars, centre wheel recessed, third wheel bar. Going fusee and chain, set-up clock recessed in top of barrel bar. Duplex escapement, brass wheel, ruby roller and polished balance staff. Train planted clockwise. Repeating train planted anti-clockwise with depthing pinion to control speed.

BRASS EDGE: Gilt brass with two, round section, polished steel repeating gongs.

REPEATING MECHANISM: Half-quarter Stogden work, mechanism frosted.

DIAL: Thick gold dial with decorated edge, dotted minute circle with large dots at 5 mins. Radial Roman chapters. Dial engraved 'VULLIAMY LONDON' under XI-I. Dial centre matt, recess for seconds ring at 5 o'clock, ring fixed by two screws from back. Seconds ring with radial 10 sec. Arabic figures, inner ladder seconds ring with thicker and extended 5 sec. marks. Dial back marked with 18 carat Assay Marks and incised 'FH'. Two rectangular, upright, fixing blocks.

HANDS: Blued steel 'Breguet' type hands.

CASE: Double-backed 18 carat gold hunter case, ribbed body, with slide to release hunter cover. Movement secured by three screws into the side of the brass edge, under the bezel. Hunter cover engine turned, and with central clear glass. Inside stamped with date letter 'f, 18' and incuse 'FH'. Back cover engine turned. Inside London hallmark 1821 and incise maker's mark 'FH', and scratched 'XX/X/- MB' and '896' over '898'. Hinged inner cover plain, with the above hallmark and maker's mark. Pendant with spherical top with pull and turn repeating push. Sphere stamped with crown and '18'. Ring bow stamped with crown.
