Potter: Cardew, Michael
Stoneware drum seat of Abuja style. Supported by six ribs only, no central vase as in some examples. Incised chevrons on the ribs. Brown-green glaze with an abstract sgraffito design on the upper surface through to a white slip, presumably zircon.
History note: Bought from the Craft Potters Association Shop, Marshall Street. 11th February 1971
