Verge watch in silver repousse case
MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Worke LONDON 14848'. Balance bridge with pierced and engraved table, feet engraved with pairs of crossed lines. Steel balance. Pierced and engraved slide plate, silver regulation dial with Arabic figure 1 to 6. Pierced fusee iron post. Case bolt and spring with, vertical, pierced foot. Potance, with moulding to end of foot screwed to plate. Counter-potance riveted to plate. Pillar plate with four square baluster pillars. Plate stamped 'W' under minute wheel. Fusee and chain, set up ratchet barrel, barrel with one lip. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise
BRASS EDGE: Gilt edge. Some unused holes for dial and pillars.
DIAL: White enamel on copper, arcaded ladder minute ring with radial Arabic 5 minute numbers between. Radial Roman chapters, inner circle. The markings on the dial are of variable density, the minute circle is particularly light in some places. Counter enamel painted with '12 3/4'.
INNER CASE: Plain silver with London Hall Mark for 1785, makers mark 'RS' in rectangular and small corner chamfer cameo. Small boar's head stamp. Dutch Tax mark 1831-52? and stamp of head and shoulders looking to the viewer's left. Inside of the body scratched 'XXO', 'Od7' and '232' etc.
OUTER CASE (A): Silver repousse with three figures on back within scrolled border. Repousse bezel.
