Description

Cup-mouthed amphora. Near-white, high-fired earthenware, thrown and turned with applied hand-modelled handles, partially clear lead-glaze. The amphora is of ovoid shape, with slender cylindrical neck and dish mouth. The strap handles extending from the shoulders of the vase are decorated at the top with dragons' heads descending into the mouth, and are adorned with three `bobbles' each. The glaze stops at a fairly regular line well above the base.
