Description

Jar with cover. Hard-paste porcelain painted in wucai decoration and underglaze-blue, green, iron-red, brown, aubergine enamels. The shouldered baluster vase tapers towards the flat, unglazed base with rounded edge. The sides are decorated with children at play and women in a landscape with balustrades, and a vertical section of cloud scrolls. A band of iron-red and green petal-shaped lappets encircle the neck, below which is an iron-red crackle border. Similar decoration is on the cover, with three boys playing in landscape, and an underglaze-blue knop.
