Description

Bottle. Buff, stoneware, monochrome bottle with four large shoulder lobes covered with speckled blue glaze. The bottle has a short neck with slightly everted rim and four large, rounded shoulder lobes tapering to a recessed, flat, glazed base. There is evidence of four spur marks on the base. It is covered all-over with a speckled light-blue glaze, unevenly spread inside the neck and mouth rim.

History note: Purchased from Eastwood & Holt, May 1920, for £8.0s.0d; H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
