Description

Lace-paper with a central oval panel containing a hand-painted pink rose. A hand-written motto in blue ink below: "Friendship". A graphite inscription inside the card: "Forgotten what?". The card was pasted down and the lace-paper is damaged, presumably where it has been lifted to view the graphite inscription. DOBBS, KIDD & CO blind-embossed at lower centre. The firm of Henry Dobbs traded as Dobbs, Kidd & Co. from 1851 into the 1890s.
