Language of Flowers Valentine card
Publisher: Aubry, Ed.
A small leaf of lace-paper mounted onto a sheet of buff-coloured card, cut to size. A panel of ?rice-paper at the centre with a chalk-lithographic, hand-coloured bouquet of flowers. The daisies in the bouquet have apparently been over-painted with a pearlescent varnish. Printed title in blue ink at upper centre: "Language of Flowers" and at lower centre: "Daisy Garden / I share your sentiments / AUBRY ED / PARIS". See also P.14344-R-44 for use of pearlescent varnish and the same publisher.
