Description

Comic valentine (plasterer). A hand coloured woodcut on very thin wove paper, which is folded in half to create an inside page (blank). The hand colouring is crudely executed. A figure with an over-sized head and large, red nose holds a plasterer's brush in his right hand and a ladder in his left. He wears a large, flat, peaked cap on his head. A printed verse below: "A dunder-headed Plasterer, / Depicted to the view, / With ladder, brush and plaster, / Is very much like you." From a series of comic figures.
