Description

A chromolithograph on blue card. Printed in blue ink at upper centre: A Welcome Guest, "I hope I dont' [sic] intrude". A winged Cupid rests on an urn between a young, middle-class couple seated on chairs. An internal frame of entwined branches with green leaves here and there surrounds the central image. From a series. Compare with different cards from the same series in the Museum of London collection: 34.170/1116, 34.170/987 and 34.170/986. These card have been dated 1881-1900.
