Description

White paper front sheet with embossed border (as lace). The paper has been roughly cut down along both sides and is quite badly marked with surface dirt at upper left and upper centre. A hand-coloured lithograph within the central panel; a couple in an embrace within a curtained interior garlanded with flowers, an urn to the right. A verse printed above and below the image: "When through the blushing eastern sky / The dawning sun first peeps on thee / Think of me love and think that I / As true, as constant, think on thee." A handwritten inscription in graphite at upper centre which is indicipherable. The same embossing design and arrangement of lithographed image and verse are seen in P.14346-R-45, indicating that these cards were from a series.
