Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Postcard-style valentine on embossed card with a gold border and chromolithographed still life of daffodils and ferns inside a basket labelled, "With My Love". Glitter (probably mica) is applied to the flowers and label. The initials: "E.E.M." printed below the illustration at lower centre. A verse is printed below: "Without thy love, life hath no pleasure; - / Say, wilt thou yield so great a treasure?" A hand-written inscription in graphiteiption in graphite hand-written onto the album leaf below P.14349-6: "Original price 4d". This unknown hand seems to be the same as that seen on the leaves of other albums throughout Glaisher's valentine collection. See also albums P.14344-R and P.14346-R. The style suggests a dating of 20th century rather than 19th.
