Description

Loose inside album P.14349-R between nos. 31 and 32. A small sheet of transparent celluloid with hand-painted design in gouache of flower spray (lily of the valley, roses, forget-me-nots) and hand-painted verse in gold paint: 'Let these flowers / Breathe [sic] / my love / to thee'. A hand-written message in black ink on the verso: 'Love your loving / Mother'. If the card is held up to the light, the verse and flower spray are illuminated. Celluloid cards appeared during the 1890s/1900s.
