My Pretty Bird Valentine card

Collage of lithographed and hand-coloured elements on white lace-paper, including a bullfinch and cut-paper flowers and leaves and stencilled leaves. A message handwritten at upper centre: "My Pretty Bird / will you come and dwell with / me among the Flowers?" DOBBS embossed at lower centre. The inside pages are blank. This card was included in the exhibition of valentine cards, _For ever thine: the nineteenth century valentine_, held in the Charrington Print Room at the Fitzwilliam Museum in 1995, no. 59.
