Popping the Question Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
A small 48mo valentine consisting of a single piece of cream embossed card with a design of roses and lace-paper panels lithographed in gold and red and green inks. A central lithographed verse printed in gold ink: 'POPPING THE QUESTION / Come, say to me you love me true, / Nor let us longer tarry; / For if you love as I love you, / Pray, why not let us marry? / I'll promise that I'll constant be, / And keep my word for ever. / So, take me know while I am free, / Or else you'll have me - never'.
