Description

A small, 48mo single piece of white card with an embossed border. 'MARION' stamped at upper right (the card has been used upside-down). A hand-written verse in black ink: 'Forget me not / Long have I loved / and loved the [sic] too sincere / Time has but proved / That thou art double dear / Think where'er I rove / Think in that [?] / Where I dwell with love / and forget me not'. Affixed at lower centre is a scrap of a heart and a hand with a yellow scroll printed with the motto: 'MY HEART AND HAND ARE THINE'. This is a carte-de-visite card mount produced by the stationer, Marion & Co., which has been made into a valentine by the sender.
