Description

White lace-paper border with central, hand-coloured lithograph of a couple sitting on rocks, the sea and a ship in the background. A printed verse below: 'Now is the time for talk, my love / Soft sighing mutual wishing, / Heart throbbings, interchange of vows, / Words breath'd mid holy kissing, ...'. The verse is from a poem by Scottish poet, Allan Cunningham (1784-1842). 'MEEK' is stamped at lower centre. The front paper is adhered to the back.
