Art Thou Thinking Of Me Valentine card

A small rectangle of red transparent cellulose with a decorative border and title and verse lithographed in gold ink: 'ART THOU THINKING OF ME / Art thou thinking of me, Belov'd, / Of the fond one far away? / I am thinking of thee, Belov'd, / Every hour of the live-long day ...'. P.14417-R-9 was probably originally contained inside or intended for a sleeve and envelope like the examples mounted nearby. See for example, P.14417-R-7 and P.14417-R-8. One of a group of lithographed cellulose valentines mounted or found loose in album P.14417-R, some of which are contained in lace-paper sleeves and/or envelopes. Although a maker's name cannot be found, P.14417-R-9 was probably made by J.T. Wood, like most of the other cellulose valentines contained in this album.
