I'll Write to Thee Valentine card
Publisher: J.T. Wood & Co
Loose inside album P.14417-R between nos. 7 and 12. A small rectangle of dark blue transparent cellulose, printed in gold lithographic ink with a decorative border around a titled verse: 'I'LL WRITE TO THEE / I'll write to thee - aye fondly write / My every whisper'd sigh...'. Printed below the verse at lower centre: 'J.T. Wood Holywell St.'. The cellulose has suffered some kind of environmental damage which has resulted in it having a stiff, puckered surface. Found with three other loose, printed cellulose valentines by J.T. Wood: P.14417-R-L4, P.14417-R-L5 and P.14417-R-L6. The cellulose rectangle was probably originally contained inside or intended for a sleeve and envelope like the examples mounted onto the album leaf; See P.14417-R-7, P.14417-R-8 and P.14417-R-11. A mounted valentine of green transparent cellulose, P.14417-R-16, employs the same title and verse.
