A hand-written (or lithographed) title and message at upper and lower centre: 'The / Valentine Album / Containing 6 Portraits / You are at perfect liberty / To choose the one / most suited to your own / Individual Case.'. Mounted at the centre is a novelty book with a glazed, lithographed and hand-coloured cover design, to appear as an album with a 'metal' fastener at the right side, and coloured in yellow, red, green, blue and gold inks. Inside are several pages of hand-coloured lithographs of various animals, including a goose, snake, monkey and donkey/ass. 'MEEK' is stamped onto the white paper at lower centre.
