An article titled 'Valentines of Our Grandmothers' Day'
One page of a printed article (with three lines of text) about valentines, titled 'Valentines of Our Grandmothers' Day', with large colour reproductions of five victorian valentines similar to several in Glaisher's collection. The article was almost certainly taken from _The Ladies' Home Journal_. This could be the article sent to Glaisher by Joan Chatterton which he mentions in a letter to Catherine Parsons: 'I have also put in today's packet the letterpress of the article on Valentines the pictures for which we looked at yesterday (& which Joan Chatterton sent me) & another article.'. Fitzwilliam Museum, MS 890-1985, 7 September, 1924 letter to Miss Catherine Parsons. Comparable valentines in Glaisher's collection to those reproduced in the article at lower left and lower right are, P.14414-R-L4 - P.14414-R-L7 and P.14414-R-L8.
