Bookseller's catalogue
A small catalogue (8.5" x 5.5") of thin wove paper and letterpress; 36 pp. The catalogue has been torn in half. Printed on the front page at upper left and right with the series number: 'No. 34' and the date: '1923-24'. The title: 'A CATALOGUE OF / MISCELLANEOUS BOOKS / Many Suitable for Xmas Presents or New Year Gifts / IN ALL CLASSES OF LITERATURE: ... Offered for Ready Money at affixed prices, by / R.S. FRAMPTON / "WALTON HOUSE," 37 FONTHILL ROAD, FINSBURY PARK / LONDON, N.4.'. Valentines are listed under the heading 'OLD VALENTINES', between pp. 27 and 28. Two lots have been cut out: lot 580 and lot 590. Lot 580 has been replaced by the same cutting, apparently from another copy of the same catalogue. A total of 19 valentines in Glaisher's collection can be traced to this sale: P.14410-R-14 (was lot 577); P.14414-R-64 (was lot 578); P.14414-R-19 (was lot 579); P.14414-R-23 (was lot 580); P.14410-R-12 (was lot 581); P.14414-R-33 (was lot 583); P.14345-R-53 - P.14345-R-65 ( a series of 13 'changeable' valentines), was lot 590.
