Note to Fitzwilliam Director, Louis Clarke about gift of valentines
A hand-written note on University Library Cambridge headed paper to 'Clarke' [Louis Clarke, Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum, 1937-1967] signed 'A.F.S.' [probably Alwyn Faber Scholfield, librarian at C.U.L., 1923-1949] and dated 8th June 1942: 'My dear Clarke, These very beautiful & moving objects are not really in our line & if you do happen to collect such things you may be glad to add these choice specimens. If you dont [sic] want them please let me have them back again & I will create a special class 'Val' for them. Yours ever A.F.S.'. An additional note written in graphite on the recto in a different hand: 'D[.....] to ask Miss O'Reilly about valentines at Museum of Archaeology'.
