Description

Teapot and cover. Hard-paste porcelain decorated in famille rose enamel colours and gilding. The teapot's loop handle is in the form of a branch and painted in iron-red enamel. The upright spout is metal and incised. The globular body is decorated with cross-hatching and scrolls in pink, iron-red and gilding reserved with four cartouches containing sprays of peony heads. Above and below is a band of eight smaller vignettes containing flowers or fruit. The cover is decorated with similar cross-hatching and scrolls reserved with eight vignettes containing flower heads, and a peach shaped knop.
