Figure. Porcelain, moulded and clear glaze.
Guanyin, wearing flowing robes, sits cross-legged and upright with a child on her knee. Her arms hold the child. The child looks up, and raises its left arm.
History note: Purchased from S.M. Franck, 6 December 1923, for £3.0s.0d (as 16th century); H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
