Inscription on fly-leaf to New York Senator Nevada Stranahan from fellow senator Thomas F. Grady presenting the book as a Christmas present dated 1899.
Bound in full green levant morocco, spine lettered in gilt, raised bands, wrap-around strapping designs in blind on covers and spine, gilt-rolled double rule on board edges, full morocco front and back doublure in green leathers with decorative gilt stamping in floral design, silk endleaves, top edge of pages gilt. Binding signed in gilt stamping "Roycroft" at bottom of front doublure. Housed in the original felt-lined green cloth-covered box.
