Description

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain painted in polychrome enamels with Chinoiserie scenes. Pattern no. 20.

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain painted in blue, two-shades of green, yellow, red, dark pink, pinkish-purple, and black enamels. The circular cup has deep curved sides and stands on a footring. The saucer has deep curved sides and stands on a footring. The cup is decorated on one side with a lady holding a parasol and a boy walking towards her holding a windmill and a flower with a fence behind them. On the right there is a plant in a pot and a small pine bush, and on the left a plant with a blue flower. On the other side there is a mound of grasses and five birds in the sky. Inside the rim is a border comprising a red line, a mauve scalloped line with blue flowers on the points and a dark pink spots on the curves. In the middle there is a small green plant with a purple bud. The saucer is decorated inside with the same figures and flanking motifs on a larger scale, and has a matching border round the rim. Pattern no. 20.
