Description

Netsuke: katabori: Group of three tortoises. Ivory, carved and stained. Group of three tortoises, one large with two smaller ones mounted on its back. Finely carved details, inlaid black eyes and himotoshi on the underside.

History note: H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
