Semi-abstract, elevated view of a football stadium just before the start of a match. Executed in dots and patches of primary colour. Male figures wearing sailor uniforms are seen from behind in the foreground.
History note: Selected by Eric Chamberlain and Carl Winter from the Grosvenor Gallery exhibition, _Lithographs by twenty-seven Soviet artists_ (9 May-10 June, 1961).

Artist's Proof (one of ten). In the 'Stadium' and 'Holidays' lithographic series' of the early 1950s, Ermolaev introduced brightly-coloured spots in red, blue, yellow and green, influenced by Post-impressionism. (See, _Leningrad Lithography: Meeting Place_ (Anna Akhmatova Museum, St Petersburg, 2017), p. 58).
