Netsuke: katabori: Monkey-trainer. Ivory, carved and stained. Figure of a man (sarumawashi) seated, leaning his right arm on a barrel and resting his left hand on his left knee, his small monkey climbing up his back. Himotoshi on the underside.

History note: H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
