Description

Dark buff earthenware, thrown, the interior and exterior coated with cream slip except for the footring and base; the interior incised and touched with pale green under lead-glaze. Originally circular with deep curved sides, standing on a high, sloping footring. Decorated in the centre there is a circular medallion forming the centre of the body of a stylized bird with a tall crest. On the exterior there are remnants of some unidentifiable decoration in green.
