Lithograph (uncoloured) on white wove paper. Inlaid within a frame of buff wove paper (approx. height 360mm x width 515mm). Brougham (in judge's wig and gown) stands with Grey and Melbourne in the left foreground. Brougham has opened the door to a dog kennel containing six dogs. Lord Londonderry raises a cane to a dog in the right background and Wellington beside him raises clenched fists at another dog. Signed with monogram at lower left: 'HB'. Title printed below the border: 'THE STATE KENNEL - ALIAS CANAILLE'. The publisher's details printed below: 'Published by Thos McLean, 26, Haymarket, Octr. 17th 1831.'. A small, circular blind stamp: [THOs. MCLEAN], the embossing is weak, at lower left. Printer's details below the border at lower right: 'C. Motte's Lithogy. 70 St. Martins Lane'.
