Lithograph (uncoloured) on white wove paper. Inlaid within a frame of buff wove paper (approx. height 360mm x width 515mm). John Bull as Midas, sitting at the centre, decides in favour of Grey (as Pan) against Wellington (as Apollo). Behind Grey are Brougham, Althorp and Durham. Cobbett (seen from behind) and Daniel O'Connell dance hand-in-hand in the background. Behind and to the right of John Bull are King William IV, dressed as an old country woman in a steeple-crowned hat and Aberdeen and Ellenborough, both dressed as women. Signed with monogram at lower left: 'HB'. Title printed below the border: 'THE JUDGEMENT OF MIDAS / Dramatic Version).'. Printed in the margin below the border to left and right of the title and below the corresponding figures of Grey on the left and Wellington on the right: '_PAN_HARMONICON / "ca ira. / "Marseilloise Hymn. / "Garry owen.'; '_APOLLO_NICON. / "God save the King. / "Rule Britannia. / "Awa Whigs awa.'.
