Lithograph (uncoloured) on white wove paper. Inlaid within a frame of buff wove paper (approx. height 360mm x width 515mm). The Duke of Wellington, with arms folded, sits between The Duke of Cumberland (Ernest Augustus, 5th son of George III and King of Hanover from 1837), seen on the right and Prince William Frederick, 2nd Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh (nephew and son-in-law of George III), seen on the left. Signed with monogram at lower left: 'HB'. Title printed below the border: 'A SHARP BETWEEN TWO FLATS'. The publisher's details printed below the border to the left: 'Published by Thos. McLean, 26, Haymarket, August 5th 1833.'. A small, circular blind stamp at lower left: 'THOs. MCLEAN'. Printer's details below the border to the right: 'A. Ducôté's Lithogy. 70 St Martins Lane.'. Printed above the border at upper right: 'HB Sketches No 279'.
