Lithograph (uncoloured) on white wove paper. Inlaid within a frame of buff wove paper (approx. height 360mm x width 515mm). Brougham at the far right directs Deputy Sergeant-at Arms, Mr Butt to send off a group of four guards, all carrying bayonets and wearing busbys. Butt thrusts the Chancellor's mace at them to encourage them to leave. The soldiers appear greatly alarmed. Signed with artist's monogram at lower left: 'HB'. Title printed below the border: 'EXTRAORDINARY CASE OF ASSAULT AND BUTT-ERY.'. The publisher's details printed below the border to the left: 'Published by Thos. McLean, 26, Haymarket, July 3rd, 1834.'. A small, circular blind stamp at lower left: 'THOs. MCLEAN'. Printer's details below the border to the right: 'A. Ducôtés, Lithogy. 70, St Martin's Lane'. Printed above the border at upper right: 'HB Sketches No. 328. P.14751-R is another impression. No. 327 appears to have been published at a later date than No. 328, see P.14750-R.
