Lithograph (uncoloured), on white wove paper. A small carriage travels along a road from left to right, pulled along by a kite onto which is drawn the face of Daniel O'Connell (with crown above and skull-and-cross-bones below). The driver of the coach (Lord John Russell) holds the kite's string. Behind him, squashed onto the carriage is a group of five men, the three facing the viewer can be identified as: King William IV (left), John Bull (lying down) and Lord Melbourne. Signed with artist's monogram at lower left: 'HB'. Title printed below the border: 'ANOTHER STAGE IN THE MARCH OF INTELLECT,'. Below the title: 'or / THE NEWEST WAY OF GETTING ALONG THE ROAD.'. The publisher's details printed below the border to the left: 'Published by Thos.. McLean, 26, Haymarket, 9th. June, 1835.'. Printer's details below the border to the right: 'Ducôté & Stephen's Lithogy. 70, St. Martins Lane'. Printed above the border at upper right: 'HB Sketches No. 394'.
