Description

Cotton, embroidered with polychrome cottons.

Quite randomly placed mixture of traditional motifs e.g. flower buds, squirrel, perching birds, repeat patterns etc as well as figurative motifs possibly derived from nursery rhyme characters e.g. Mary had a Little Lamb, Little Boy Blue. There are also three playing cards arranged in a fan like corner motif. The nursery rhyme motifs resemble those found on tiles made for nurseries especially hospital children's wards, at the beginning of the 20th century.

There are three decorative upper case initials, " K P I" in the lower right corner with an "M" above.
