This medallet was cast in Gold and Silver and given to persons of various ranks in Essex's army.
Method of acquisition: Bought (1970-03-05) by University Purchase Fund
Production date: AD 1642
Object composed of silver Diameter (min) 37 mm Diameter 37 mm Weight 5.87 g
Inscription present: Half length figure of the Earl of Essex, in armour, falling lace collar, and scarf round his body, sword in hand. Over his head "S. X." for Essex.
Inscription present: The two Houses of Parliament with the King and Speaker.
