Marriage Badge 1662
Ruler: Charles II (1660-85)
Due to the dress of Catherine and the legend referring to her with no royal title it is believed that this medal was executed soon after the Queen's arrival and before the marriage.
Method of acquisition: Given (1972) by Coin Duplicates Fund
Production date: AD 1662
Object composed of silver gilt Diameter (min) 30 mm Diameter 30 mm Weight 2.69 g
Inscription present: Bust of Catherine, facing left, hair turned back from the front, wreathed and collected into a coronet towards the back of the head, large mass of ringlets behind, drapery over the shoulders.
Inscription present: Two orange trees with their stems intertwined.
