THE CHARACTER OF HIS TALENTS HAD RAI-SED HIS VIRTUES ADORNED & EXERTED. ACTIVE TO DISCOVER MERIT, & PROMPT TO RELIEVE DISTRESS. HIS ENCOU-RAGEMENT WAS LIBERAL, HIS BENE-VOLENCE UNWEARIED. HONOURED & ADMIRED AT HOME & ABROAD. HE CLOSED A LIFE EMINENTLY USEFUL. THE 17TH OF AUGUST 1809 AGED 81. ESTEEMED, LOVED, & LAMENTED.
