Slip-coated earthenware with incised decoration painted in green and dark yellow under lead-glaze
Buff earthenware, thrown, the interior and the upper part of the exterior coated with cream slip, incised, painted in green and dark yellow, and lead-glazed. Three spur marks in the middle. Circular with carinated sides which slop inwards towards the rim, standing on a high footring. Decorated in the centre with a crossed circle with a spiral above within a circle of radiating strokes between pairs of concentric circles. On the sides there is a continuous row of rather pointed scallops between pairs of horizontal bands. There is a green splodge between two yellow in the centre, and alternate splodges over the sides. The exterior glaze appears yellowish dark brown.
