History note: Birthday of P. Rolin noted in Calendar at 22 June. On first flylea (f.ii), in a 16th cent. ,hand, '67 Breuiarium Ecclesiae Parisiensis. Ad finem habentur Rubricae. = a'. On the first vellum pastedown in a 17th cent. hand, 'Hoc libro donauit Nobilis Dominus Bartholomaeus Maij Patritius et Senator Augustanus [erasure follows] 22 Aprilis A 1611'. An erasure in the top margin of f.1 may be of the same date. Owned by Manuel John Johnson (1805-59). Lot 33 in his sale at Sotheby's 27 May 1862; faint pencil signature on f. ii. Book labels of John Ruskin ('Ex libris JOhn Ruskin, Brantwood'), and Charles Fairfax Murray.
