Description

Box, lacquer with lid (A). Rectangular box in two shallow convex halves. The black ground has traces of brown and red showing through and is decorated in gold with two scrolling floral sprays on each side in hiramakie (low-relief sprinkled design). The interior is decorated with nashiji (shimmering spangles).
