Kean stands, in character, wearing a roman toga, his arms folded, a look of grim determination on his face. A second male figure has fallen to the floor, his hands covering his face. The setting is the Roman Forum. Two other robed senators sit on a platform in the background to the right. Soldiers with spears are seen behind them.
